BOARD OFFICERS
Tom Kovach
President
Tom Kovach joined the Board of Directors in October 2006 and was elected Vice President in January 2007. He also serves as a co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, which is developing a long-range plan for The Center. In addition to his involvement with The Center, Tom volunteers for the Human Rights Campaign, serving on the national HRC Board of Governors and as a co-chair of the local HRC Steering Committee. Tom currently serves as Vice President of Client Services & Senior Consultant for IDC, a Henderson-based consulting firm where he has been responsible for designing fund-raising and public relations campaigns for clients nationwide and in the United Kingdom for nearly 15 years. Having relocated from the East Coast in 1996, Tom resides in Henderson with his partner Matt and their two chocolate labs, Ripton and Ike.
Jennifer Bolton
VICE PRESIDENT
Jennifer is a ten year resident of Henderson, Nevada. She is married with four children, Viviana, Samantha, Hannah and Charlie. Her wife Vivian is a certified court interpreter with Clark County, and together they are foster parents to Hannah and Charlie. Jennifer is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Philosophy with an Emphasis in Ethics and a Juris Doctorate degree from Whittier Law School. She is an attorney and Judge Pro Tem in Henderson, Nevada. Jennifer opened her practice in 2001 with partner Frank Kocka, Esq. with a primary focus on criminal defense work. Jennifer's community involvement focuses primarily on the LGBT community. She sits on the board of The Center and is a founding member of the local steering committee for the Human Rights Campaign in Las Vegas. Jennifer and Vivian work with these and other organizations in hopes that there will one day be equality for our community.

Desiree Duncan
SECRETARY
Desiree first landed in Las Vegas in June of 2006 when she took the position as a Producer and On-air talent for Vegas PBS (Channel 10). She is originally from Tennessee where she worked as a Producer/Host for the local public television station while earning her Bachelor’s Degree in English-Journalism at Tennessee Tech University. Desiree was first elected to the Board of Directors in March of 2007 after realizing her desire to get more involved in the queer community. She hopes to make a difference by striving for more diversity in the GLBTQ community. Desiree currently sits as a Co-Chair for the Marketing & PR Committee. She also spends her time volunteering for the Human Rights Campaign.
Gwen Migita
TREASURER
Gwen Migita is the director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Executive Development Associate at Harrah’s Entertainment. She drives the development and implementation of corporate integrity strategy, policy and programs of Harrah’s corporate ethos; the Code of Commitment, and its cascading community reinvestment and sustainability programs. She is currently a Las Vegas Steering Committee member for the Human Rights Campaign and executive board member at The Center. Gwen is the past president of the American Marketing Association – Las Vegas Chapter, Guam Marketing Association, and membership development board member of the AMA-Honolulu Chapter. She is also a charter member and former board of director of Rotary Clubs in Hawaii and on Guam.
BOARD MEMBERS
John Arnos
John Arnos has been a member of The Center's Board of Directors for three years now. Last year, John served as the Member-at-Large on the Executive Committee. He has also been co-chairing the Fundraising Committee and Honorarium Committee. His commitment to the youth group has also helped bring that program to the success that it is today.
Arlene Cooper
Arlene has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1992, via Tennessee, Florida and California, and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. After spending 21 years in hotel management, Arlene became involved in the HIV/AIDS community with ReachOut, a daycare center for children infected and affected with HIV/AIDS, Golden Rainbow and Saint Therese Center. In addition, Arlene became a licensed foster parent to a 10 year old HIV-positve boy and volunteers for Special Olympics and the Democratic Headquarters. She is currently Office Manager for Stonewall Publishing and has one very special, loving son, Ryan.

Randy Reinoso
Randy has been on the Board since January 2005. He took a brief hiatus in July 2006, but returned in January 2007. Randy is co-chair of the Board’s PR/Marketing committee. He is currently employed as the Manager of Sierra Health Service’s Case Management department. In addition to serving on The Center’s board, Randy is also President of Nevada’s Board of Social Work Examiners, a member of Clark County Social Services Citizens’ Advisory Committee, and serves on the Brain Injury Council for the State of Nevada. In 2005, Randy was named “Big Brother of the Year” by Big Brothers and Sisters of Southern Nevada. Randy’s involvement in the Las Vegas LGBT community is quite extensive: He was Executive Director of both Golden Rainbow and AFAN, Vice-President of the Clark County Coalition of HIV/AIDS Service Providers, and a founding member of the local HRC steering committee.
Karen Rubel
Karen Rubel joined the Board of The Center in 2007. She currently serves as the Chair of the Fundraising Committee. Karen became involved with The Center as part of the Board’s outreach to the straight community. Since moving to Las Vegas in 2000, Karen has been volunteering for various non-profit organizations. She currently serves on the newly formed Liberace League, serving as the Co-Chair for the Liberace Piano Competition, a Board member for the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and the Red Mountain Music Company. Karen is an active volunteer for Sunrise Children’s Foundation, the Andre Agassi Foundation and the Trilogy of Tolerance Foundation. She is the Vice President of the Foundation at Nathan Adelson Hospice.
Paul Scott
Paul T. Scott relocated to Las Vegas in December 2001 from St. Louis, MO where he worked as an I.T. Security Administrator. Paul began volunteering time at The Center in February of 2003 and also began volunteering with the Nevada Gay Rodeo Association and The Imperial Court. Paul was elected to the Board of Directors in September 2003, again in January 2004, and then in January 2005, following the Annual Meeting, Paul was elected to the Member-at-Large position. In 2006 Paul was elected Board Secretary. When Paul isn't working as an IT Systems Engineer for Stations Casinos, or running his own photography business he can be found at The Center providing technical assistance, taking pictures at events, or just in general lending a helping hand.
Tod Story
Tod Story is a 23 year resident of Las Vegas, he graduated from Las Vegas' Bonanza High School and then graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies, with emphasis in public relations and political science. Tod was one of the original founders of the UNLV College Democrats in 1995 (Now UNLV Young Democrats). He was involved extensively with the Students for Clinton/Gore 1996 Campaign and organized a “Rock the Vote” bus tour visit on campus, many rallies as well as visits by President Clinton. He attended the Democratic National Convention that year, serving as a page, and in 2000 was a Nevada Delegate to national convention. Tod worked as staff to U.S. Senator Richard Bryan, and is currently District Director for U.S. Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, a position he has held since her election in 1998. Tod served on The Center board from 1997 to 2002, was one of the founding members of the Las Vegas HRC Steering Committee and is currently a Director on the board for the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, an Ambassador for the ONE Campaign and a member of the Liberace League of the Liberace Museum. He lives in Henderson with his partner of 15 years, Michael Ginsburg.
