COMMUNITY GROUPS
Numerous organizations within the Las Vegas LGBT community use The Center to hold monthly board of directors and membership meetings. Among them are the following:
Imperial Royal Sovereign Court of the Desert Empire, Inc. (IRSCDEI)
The IRSCDEI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt corporation benefiting the local community of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada. In the five years of IRSCDEI's existence, the organization has contributed over $100,000.00 back to the Las Vegas community. The IRSCDEI is committed, through various fundraising and other community efforts, to making the lives of those less fortunate in our community a little better. And of course they have a lot of fun doing it! Board meetings are held at The Center each month. Please see The Center's event calendar for meeting dates and times. www.desertempire.org
Nevada Gay Rodeo Association
The Nevada Gay Rodeo Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the western lifestyle and producing gay rodeos with a commitment to raise funds for charitable organizations within our community. Over the years, NGRA has raised many thousands of dollars for local charities. NGRA is an affiliate of International Gay Rodeo Association which has 28 member associations in the U.S. and in Canada. NGRA has produced ten BigHorn Rodeos since 1996. This year's BigHorn Rodeo is now in the planning stages. NGRA's yearly rodeo includes traditional events in rough stock (such as Bareback Bronc Riding and Bull Riding), speed and roping categories, as well as camp (comical) events, entertainment, dancing, vendors and other activities. Board meetings and rodeo planning committee meetings are held at The Center each month. Please see The Center's event calendar for meeting dates and times. www.ngra.com
Sin Sity Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence
The Sisters exist as an order of 21st century nuns dedicated to the promulgation of universal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Their ministry is one of public manifestivation and habitual perpetration. The sisters work to raise money for AIDS charities, fight for queer rights and visibility, do safer sex outreach and strive diligently to keep their sense of humor, never taking themselves so seriously that they forget to have fun. Perhaps you've seen them at nearly every LGBT community event in Las Vegas. Meetings are held at The Center each month. Please see The Center's event calendar for meeting dates and times. www.sinsitysisters.org
Southern Nevada Association of Pride, Inc. (SNAPI)
SNAPI's mission is to educate the community by invoking, promoting and celebrating LGBT pride. Founded in 1992, SNAPI is a 501(c)(3) organization which hosts Las Vegas Pride Week every year, complete with a night parade, daytime festival, several nights of parties and pageants and much more. Throughout the year, SNAPI holds fund-raising events for the community, including various parties and bingo nights. Board meetings are held at The Center each month. Please see The Center's event calendar for meeting dates and times. www.lasvegaspride.org
