SOUTHERN NEVADA GAY AND LESBIAN COMMUNITY CENTER TO HONOR LOCAL HEROES
(Las Vegas—November 2, 2007) The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Southern Nevada is proud to announce the 13th Annual Honorarium, presented by Lovett Companies, will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007, 6pm at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino. This year’s theme, “Many Colors, One Cause” reminds us that we unite to create positive change for the Southern Nevada community.
This year’s categories and honorees are: Woman of the Year, Dawn Christensen; Man of the Year, Earl Shelton; Small Business of the Year, Kunin and Jones (Israel “Ishi” Kunin); Corporation of the Year, Lovett Companies; Friend of the Community, Terry Murphy; Youth of the Year, Joshua Snipper; Volunteer of the Year, Marcus Grissom (aka Kitty Litter); Entertainers of the Year, Menopause the Musical; Non-Profit of the Year, Sin Sity Sisters; Lifetime Achievement; Dr. Gary Schroeder. Each of these honorees has distinguished themselves as community leaders through their commitment to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community by giving of their time, talents or resources during the past year. The Lifetime Achievement award honors individuals who consistently give over many years.
Honorarium 2007 will include a silent auction of items donated from generous individuals, companies and sponsors in southern Nevada, accompanied by the sounds of the Liberace Quartet. A surprise local personality will serve as a “Living Table” selling raffle prize opportunities. Chris Saldana, Channel 8 (KLAS) News Anchor, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
